A couple for a series of 6 articles for 3d creative mag on mudbox:

A couple of images I was asked to do to illustrate why the vector displace shader I wrote does stuff standard displacement can't. (Overhangs, undercuts and thin facing geoemtry)

and what would it look like with standard 32 bit displacement?:

while this is an extreme example it serves to illustrate vector displacement better than a thousand words.

Wow, fantastic images Wayne, great work...! Its amazing the Difference between the Vector Disp and the Normal Disp Maps.. I would have never given Overhangs a thought.. great insight.

Good to see your Up and About again, Hope your trip to the dentist wasn't too terrifying for ya =) Don't work yourself to the bone man.

I'll have to look out for those mags. =)

I wasn't clear. Where is this shader Wayne wrote? Do I need to check the magazine to find out?
