Service pack 2 is now out that solves a number of issues including the data corruption that some people were experiencing. I've put it through its paces for the last few weeks and its been spot on for me. I'd urge all mudbox users to upgrade to SP2 ASAP. Just reember to uninstall mudbox and reboot before installing SP2.

im happy that there is more stability, for sure. But I cant help but be disappointed that brush attributes such as "Affect all Layers" and "Update Plane" are still nonexistent.

This pack was just to solve some major issues users were having..so no new features this time around ...or old ones lol.

Uninstall mudbox, install sp2 service pack after a reboot (and also a good idea to delete your mudbox folder in my documents as well before you install sp2.) Once you do that bob's yer aunties live in lover lol.

So no new features, huh? I was wondering if U,Wayne, could give us a clue what will be there in mudbox 2010? Maybe we should make a topic with discussion about what we would like to see in new Mudbox? Lately i found out about 3dcoat and i was seriously shocked about the price and what u can do with this software. And i was thinking that i really would like to see and use obviously transform tool in Mudbox. Right now i think it's the biggest "-" of MB. Also the retopology tool in 3dcoat works great. anyways...just random thoughts about ... stuff :) headin' home to install sp2 :D

Should I know anything along those lines I can't tell anyone. Those NDA's are watertight at the best of times..... meaning I'd get into a lot of legal hot water if I said so much as one word.

don't know for you boys but for me..am :-\ ,painting layers is with the same bug as before
when I "try" to paint the sculpting stops to work when I restart the aplication and try to sculpt and then paint the paint dosnt work
but the viewport filters work
i'll be sticking with the.. first mudbox 2009 version non of the service packs fixed my errors but i'll wait for hope or save money for a new video card :D

dude with the service pack's installed I cannot:
- use my pressure sensitive tablet while sculpting
- paint over the model having strange issues

and if I paint over the model the next problem that happens is that
I cannot sculpt
and if I sculpt I cannot paint
that's a serious issue for me :-[
I'll try with my brother's video card
i"m with Ati radeon video card with 256 mb memmory..

i think these are more issues with your PC that cause mudbox to bug out, you might want to think about reformatting windows and maybe upgrading if possible

Hi there :)

Did you need to re-register when you installed SP2? My laptop has to stay offline at work because mudBox hasn't been approved for security reasons (military).

If it keeps all the licensing info in the registry (after you uninstall and install SP2) then I can just do it at home rather than wait on our IT guys to take my laptop away :(

BTW- Thanks for maintaining this site and sharing your knowledge and skills Wayne- We appreciate you.
