Hey all,

I remember from Waynes trick video where you can load up multiple UV sets when there is a single object in the scene, but can this can be done with multiple objects? It makes life easy to have the ability to paint texture maps on low poly stuff, but not being able to do it to multiple objects is annoying. One quick mention, when I load up multiple meshes there is no problem creating new layers to paint, but this doesnt work so well when there are predefined textures. When I select one object and import its fine, but then the successive objects override everything in the scene when thier textures are imported.

Perhaps I completely missed something obvious but I'm driving down a dead end.

Last question, are there plans (or has it been done already?) to add support for this without using the "trick" in any service packs??

When you make a layer in MB, you make a layer for a specified object...
Just select the object you want to paint on in the list and lock the others, should work. (all need their own layers)

I'd love to know how importing previously painted texture maps is going to be addressed too. It's extremely painstaking to have to go manually renaming maps just to load them in properly. If the map names can't be saved in the obj, then it would seem that Mudbox would need to recognise that the object you are working in has multiple uv layouts, so on import, it prompts you for the maps for the corresponding tiles it's found, so it can apply the maps to them before the model is even loaded, saving you all this hassle.

It's actually hard to believe this wasn't addressed in the latest service pack. Seems like a biggie to me!
