Hi all,
I'm having problems when trying to create normal and displ map in mudbox,

as test i wnated to extract a displ and apply to a clean geometry(same geomtry, a cube) but when i do this it displays not correctely, the details are there but but is like they are not aligned to the surface

for the normal i followed tutorial and help, and it shows properly, but very light not enougth depth...and im not findin any setting to imrpove(already set teh show bump to maximum level)

for boths i used the standard setting when extracting.

thanks, ops is not something already discussed, since i didnt find it yet.

i think you can duplicate it in photoshop to get a stronger effect.
what your doing is prob right you just need more punch behind it .

im in no way shape or form an expert on this but give it a go .

Can you show an example of the mesh you are trying to capture details from?

The prob was i didn't think about changin the "search distance" value, and this created the prob...
i'm very sorry to wasted a thread like this, shame on me:)

But i have a question, how can i move the layers in the stack? like i do in photoshop for example when i reorder them moving up and down?

thanks guys.

Middle mouse click and drag. Be sure that you are using sp1 or later...although everyoe should be using sp2 anyway now.) A thread is never wasted as it can save peope looking for the same answer time. :)
