Hi guys.

win XP 32bit
nvidia 8800gts 640mb pcie
2 gb ddr2 ram
amd 3.0ghz

I'm new to the forum and new to mudbox - got mudbox 2009.

I assumed that my 8800 gts 640mb graphic card would be powerful enough to run mudbox but l have got problems.

I have updated the driver to the newest version.

When l start mudbox 2009 it opens and gives me the option to either select a default model or grid. If l select one of these then the l get an error message stating that the graphic card is not capable of some of the functions - suggests it could be the driver ?

The viewport looks pixelated and corrupt.

I rolled back my driver to a much older version and this time the viewport just stays black but l still get the error message.

I have to ctrl/alt/delete to kill mudbox.

I was wondering if anybody knows of a 8800 gts640 mb driver that works with mudbox - l have read other posts on other websites such as autodesk own forum, and l know that people are using this card for mudbox. Can't understand why l'm having soo much trouble.

Any help please ??

Steve

The gts and gtx cards seems to have troubles with 2009. try updating the service pack.

Oddly I never had any trouble with my 8800GT, even before the SPs. I don't know what driver is installed off the top of my head (it won't be a new one, I haven't touched it it for months). I'll have a look when I get home.

i'm using a 8800gts, i think it's the 768 version, but for the life of me i can't remember since i'm at work.

I have i believe either the most current drivers or one version back and havn't had any problems with it.

I used the demo for a while before buying and upgrading to the newest SP, both versions worked fine with the card.

I looked up my 8800GT driver and it's -

7.15.11.7813

I don't know if they're exactly the same driver for the different models but they seem to come in the same package.
