Hi guys,
Can mudbox locally subdivide a region without subdividng the rest of the model? If so how is it done? I've tried searching the docs but couldn't find anything about it.
thanks

No that features was removed in mudbox 2009 due to the new subdivision algorithm. As mudbox can reach far higher poly counts it isn't realy needed as much. Although there are cases in which it would be handy to have.

ok, that's cool to know that MB can handle alot more polys, but it would still have been nice to that feature as it means we can work more efficiently.
We should start a features request sticky....I know what I would be requesting for. ;)
thanks.

Ey Wayne, why not make it sticky?

Requesting a feature that was previously in an app and was removed and replaced by a more powerful and efficient method would most probably fall on deaf ears ;)

Ehm it's actually easier to subdivide the mesh, freeze the surroundings and sculpt the inside...
