Okey dokey guys and gals, if you go to the front of this site ( www.mudboxhub.com) you will notice there are a few new items in the menu on the left hand side. I've aded all the QuickStart videos currently on vimeo along with some timelapses. My aim is eventually (and dont expect this tomorrow ,or next week etc...lol) is to replace these with HD versions. But basically we're back in business. ;)

This is only the start of what's to come... next (as soon as they are re-encodedand uploaded ..whch is going to take a while) will be both Wave 1 & 2 of the 'Mudbox 2009: From the Ground Up' series in their entirety and in HD. (Including the parts never seen before from Wave 2.) That will bring the FREE Mudbox videos this site up to somewhere near 10 hours.

Mudbox Hub is back!

Hey I live in the Netherlands and am interested in what you will be demonstrating/lecturing in Utrecht.
So could you briefly tell us what its about?

Off topic:
Did you get my pm? As it isn't listed in the sent messages thingy..

To be honest it depends to a large degree how experienced the people going are in Mudbox. If everyone is pretty experienced I hve something much more advance lined up..if they aren't I've got something less advanced but still interesting to all.

Curious as to where the rest of the quick start video on projecting details from one model to a retopologized mesh is. It stops at about 3:20 seconds and never gets to the actual projection.

Do I assume that the uv layout and number of points/faces on the new mesh don't have to match the original sculpt?

No you dont have to have same point numebr or order.

The workflow is to import your retopped mesh and create a displacement map between that and you high resolution mesh. Then subdivide your model to a similar polycount (you shouldn't need as many) and then use 'sculpt using displacement' to re-create the model.
