Hi,

I have a wall and i have a stencil with lots of cracks on it, how do i sculpt the cracks onto the wall without affect the flatness of the wall? I basically only want the cracks on teh wall and the wall to stay planar as it was. at the moment when i use the stencil with the sculpt brush i can sculpt the cracks into the wall but i am also pulling the wall outwards as well due to the brush. the stencil is mid gray (128) and the cracks are black. any help would be much appreciated.

cheers

Hi there ..
when you use the stencil
don't use the sculpting Brush in the first place try to use the Freeze brush then use the sculpt Brush . and I think that will Give you the result that you want ; )

hi mate,

thanks for the help but its not working. I basically want to just paint over the stencil and have just the cracks affect the sculpt.

Mudbox will treat the white parts of a stencil as most active and black parts as inactive. So your best best would be to edit it so that everything except the cracks is black.
