OK boys and girls this is a heads up only, do not expect any detailed info etc, but there will be a mudbox book out in a few months through wordware. Its' going to be very special and in colour. Its going to cater for intermediate to advandced users and I think you may enjoy it. I've been working on the book in total blackout for the last couple of months, but its at a stage now where I can at least mention it online. I'm not giving the title just yet (as I could change it on a whim at 3 seconds notice at this stage lol), but suffice to say it shall be full of mudboxy goodness

Once a release date (a FIRM one) is in my hands I'll be sure to pass it on to you all. Spread the word around as wayne needs the dosh for a Wacom Cintique lol.

Yeah there'll be a dvd with the book I was aming for 2 but that would make the book end up costing about 7 zilion dollars lol. Ah the old kurv dvd's...I dont get paid for those now (in fact I really must look into the legal sie of things once I get time), that 1st mud dvd is the only one I have an actual hard copy of out of all the dvd's I made for them. Hopefully people aren't still buying those (mainly as I dont see a god damned penny!) Although that seems like a lifetime ago now.

Sounds good, I know you must haven written the book already....I'm hoping from the name you'll be focusing more on creative ways to use the features of MB rather than how to use the tools. I've been following your quick start and other tutorials, (btw great job) so right now I'm looking for more creative ways on how to use the tools I learned in unique ways. Again amazing job man, thanks for all your hard work.

Oh this isn't just a 'this tool does this' type of book...... theres much more to it. I've actually got another month to get everything ready to hand in, so if I go on 'silent mode' for a while towards the end of this month you'll know why lol.

There was a person planning a book on mud 2k9 who had no experience at all of 3d and I think that they realised after a few weeks that its not something you can pick up in a few days lol. (Plus when I pointed out that they could not rip off wholesale the entire quickstart and ground up series into their book I think they called it a day on that....especially after they emailed me asking newbie questions about 3d. Its the reason I added the disclaimer on the main site I did about the videos... I'm not in the business of making other people rich lol.)

But there was a book on maya that touched on mud v1...but this is the only book planned to my knowledge for mud2k9. Plus its definatley the only one by a person who knows that they are doing lol.

No what I'm saying is that there are plenty of books out Maya...you can't move for them in fact. :) But this is as far as I'm aware the only book on Mudbox 2009.

Yes I've delayed it until 2010's release, mainly as it would have only been 'current' for about 2 months. There are a few things I reallly wanted to include, hence keeping it back a bit. I can promise that it'll be worth the wait. :)

I'm thinking its probably going to released sometime in September or October seeing that he said the book would only be current for about two months if he released it now.

I'll be handing the final manuscript in this year probably about early october. It will then take about 2-3 mnths to edit, check and get printed ready to hit the shelves. Its meant to be in full colour, so unless my publisher have sudenly changed their mind, it may edge closer to 3 than 2 months.

It wil be out when its out... Sorry I'm not allowed to give even slightest hints about release dates. However if your wondering about delays and such..wordware were bought out by another book company so things had to be reapproved by the new owners.
