Howdy All,

while painting on the mesh triangular slices refuse to accept color or painting of any kind. The non-paintable areas seem to follow the edge flow of the mesh. I've checked and re-checked the UV's and everything is kosher. the faces are all quads and the normal directions are all correct. The verts in all of the affected areas are welded correctly. The UV coords in question are miles away from other UV shells as well as the appropriate distance from the overall UV space border. I'm racking my brain and any help or insight would be GREATLY appreciated. I've scoured the forums for another instance of this and haven't found any but it's likely that I may have missed something so if there is another post or a sticky pertaining to this issue please direct me there.

I've included screen shots of the problem both of the mesh and the UV's. Thanks again.

Can you post that particular mesh as obj. Just the base mesh please.

thanks skycastle, here is the obj in a zip file.

the UV's appear to be floating in the middle of nowhere because this is part of a larger mesh. I only exported the necessary geometry. I also brought it back into mudbox like that and the problem still occurs even with the other stuff gone so...
