View Full Version : artefacts on my exported maps

Hi folks

I'm new to Mud so my apologies in advance. I'm sculping a leech, it's very basic but I keep getting nasty artefacts on my exported normal and dispacement maps. The UVs seem fine. I'm using 32 bit floating point EXRs. When I bring it into Maya the displacement looks rough and I know about optimising the displacement in Maya, but the artefact is clearly on the Mudbox maps I exported. Attachments included.

I'm flattening the model before I export maps and using Closest to Target Model. Not sure what to change the search distance to.

any ideas?
