Invert Layer Mask

Hi everyone. I have a small area that I want clear of a layer mask. Am I missing something or is there no way to invert a layer mask?

In addition Flood doesn't seem to be working with mask so I can't flood the layer with mask and then paint it out. Instead I have to slowly and painfully mask out the whole object, then un-mask the small area I'm interested in keeping clear.

According to the docs you can flood with mask, but it doesn't seem to be working on this layer on this model. It says flooding, but nothing appears to have changed. I've tried changing the build up rate, the strength and the advanced options, but nope, still doesn't flood. Am I doing something stupid, or does this not work generally?

Yep thats a bug alright.

You are correct that thers not a way to invert a mask as it stands at the moment. Which is a shame.

Thanks Wayne. Good to check. Bit of a weird omission since I use inverting selections on frozen areas all the time and they're very similr tools.

I'll log a bug report on the flood not working with mask. I guess they're aware of it, but it doesn't hurt to bump up the number of logged bugs. More chance of getting them fixed if more people log them.
