Hi,
After watching Platoon again, i've decided to model a Vietnam G.I. Here is a first rendering of the head. I don't know yet, if i'll make him more photorealistic or a bit stylized, concerning the rendering/shading, in the end. Concept will follow.
Hope you like it? :)

Textures are nice :)!
Detailing too.
But should the tip of the nose really be farther in than the lips?

I am with hulahuga on my comment; I might adjust the nose a bit. The bridge seems a bit high for an African bone structure.
The texturing is quite nice, very realistic, yet there seems to be a bit of a ring around the his collar bones. I am not sure if that was intentional or what, but it might be better if smoothed out or toned down.
I especially like the hair and how you varied the thickness around the temples. Nice work!

Looks great so far. One crit for you is the eyes are almost double the width apart that they should be.
You could solve this by making them both a little larger, or moving them a bit closer together.
Eyes are generally 1 'eye' width apart. These are 2 eye width apart and makes him look a little 'fish eyed".
fantastic texturing on him, very realistic.

@melkior
thx. :)
the space between the eyes is equal to the reference, but your right, it looks a bit odd, anyway.
i will move them a bit closer together.
