I'm now offically an Authorised Autodesk Developer. :)

Yes ladies and gents, yours truley has been given the great honour of being made an Authorised Certified Autodesk developer. To say I'm happy is putting it mildly. MudWalker has been making some big waves behind the scenes in 3d this last week and this is just one result. (Another is Topogun will soon have a special 'MudWalker' button ;) )

Now this gives me access to a lot of information and stuff I normally woudm't have and thus make it easier to make MudWalker into something really special over time. It means I should find intergration with autodesk applications less painful and give a excellent support structure. Up till now apart from the mudbox guys and 1 of the lead max programmers its all down to hard work and working ways out no one thougth of to lever in interoperability between the apps. (Although thats obviously going to continue with none Autodesk apps lol)

The offical 'authorised /certified developer' is myself and my company DashDotSlash Inc (Who obviously own the hub).

See...I told you a while back BIG changes were coming to Mudbox Hub. ;)

Shh.... Do you hear angels' chorus in the background?

Way to go, Wayne. We're all cheering for you. Especially now because we have an "inside man." Kidding. But here's a digital slap on the back:

SLAP!

This is definitely a big change. All I can say is that I'm glad that our very own community afficianados are now part of the development group! Mudbox is only going to get better from here on out!

Again, congratulations, Wayne!

Congratulations, your tutorials on CG Arena really helped me alot, allthough im still a newcomer to mudbox.
The ability to quickly import/export between maya and mudbox with mudwalker, is something Ive been looking forward to.

I hope you continue to make tutorials, (my favorite was the concept scuplting one), but I was wondering if it would be possible to dial down that strong dialect just a tad, since not everyones native languague is english.

:D

Best

Thanks guys.... its still sort of sinking in as there's sudenly a shed load of stuff to learn and access to the enire Autodesk product range and the ability to ask the devs questions mean I'm having to adjust the way that I normaly work lol.

What it means is what although I'm still a 'lone wolf' developer, I now hav a closer bond with autodesk, so there is no damn way in hell I can ever call myself independant again lol. So it means without a doubt that autodesk apps will have a far greater interop in MudWakler than others simply due to the fact I can ask for info ...and get it fast.

I've always had a close relasionship with the mud guys thankfully and for MudWalker some tweaks to the sdk they made wouldn't have happened ordinarily.

There are lots of things in development at the moment with 70% of them being long term projects. Of course I've also got to find time for my art as well, as I've done bugger all of that to speak of for a couple of months due to MudWalker and ReLight.

I may expand with a few extra coders at some future point should all go well. (But I've still got to make some damn money 1st lol).

You may tell me to bugger off on this question but its been a curiosity since you started talking about plugins.

So far things appear to be freebies... as you say gotta make some money? do you have money making ideas with mudwalker or maybe sell it to autodesk or something hahaha?... just curious where your going.

its free to everyone, unless a company has more than 5 artists of any type.. then they need a site license. Then I make money.

Does that just mean they put their seal of approval on the stuff you put out there or do they help with promotion aswell or something?

Congrats Wayne.

It's easy to see your dedication, enthusiasm and pure passion for the art form.

I have to say, you are the one that convinced me to go to Mudbox (though I only dream to do what you do).

There's a lot more to it than that....all will become clear in time I think.:)
