I'm doing some tweaks (some minor nad some major) ro MudWalker this week and next as I have time. I'll add here what's being done and any qeries for users I feel may be pertinant.



'Custom App Slots'

Tonight I'm adding the ability for users to add their own applications they want to MudWalker easily. Out of necesity some will still be hard coded...but I was thinking 3 'custom' slots. Anyone think thats enough or not enough? it'd be good to have some input on this before I get too deeply into it..although it has been tested and is working right now in the unreleased point release.

Is there a reason it couldnt be dynamic? ie if someone wanted to add 1 they could... but in the same vain they could add 10 and mudwalker would just make space?

Yeah theres a handful of reasons mainly as some apps require some tweaks for scale orientation etc on export so I need to maintain control of those to some small degree. To be honest I'm trying to make sure its as hard as possible to 'break MudWalker' through inputing the wrong thing.

Users will still be able to to change locations of apps to something other than the default though..although within certain cavats.

Speaking of the scaling issue, why does it scale my models by 2.5 times when I import them to Max? Is it supposed to compensate when going from inches to cms? If so, then it's unneeded when Max is already set to cms as mine is.

Any way to disable that? It just means I get a 250% scale transform on my models which I definitely don't want. My models are at real world scales in cms already so I don't want scales happening.

I haven't used it much so I might be doing something stupid. I'll have to give it a more thorough test.

MudWalker will use whatever your last settings for FBX export / import were so if they have been changed it will knock the scale off. There were issues regarding the FBX sdk itself that are planned to be fixed ... unless they HAVE been fixed (meaning I'll need to modify the code accordingly) which could also cause the problem.

But yes as mentined inhte help files you must have teh latest version of FBX for your host apps for MudWalker.

I'll check that. I doubt I'll have set it to scale things myself (if I had it wouldn't have been to scale it by 2.54 times since I always work in Metric), but it might have defaulted to doing that when I updated the plugin.
