Hello everybody New to the forums. I have previously been a ZB user but returned to Mudbox earlier in the week to try out some texturing stuff and remembered why I got it in the first place. I am using MB 2009.

I thought I would start by posting my current WIP which I started this afternoon.
I am very much still concepting how this will look so it may change quite a bit and I still have additions I want to make. It is partly inspired by the parasites from Cloverfield.
Hopefully I will get more done through the week if I can find the time.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the comments I did a few more tweaks last night just playing with the surface details on the fleshy bits and playing with potential ideas for the mechanical parts.

very nice progress indeed... getting close to the texturing part... I'm looking forward to seeing more now.

have you got the model in a few different parts... or all 1 mesh??

Thanks I still have quite a bit to do before I think about texturing right now I am still playing with ideas. I am quite happy with the direction the main body has gone but I will be doing some more work on the front claws tonight if I am not too tired after work.

currently I am working with multiple objects.
body, front legs, middle legs, rear legs, large claws, small claws and the power source at the rear underside. It just allows me to change parts and swap bits out it I don't like the direction of a specific part it also gives me more geometry to work with.

I am looking forward to getting to the point of texturing. The tools mudbox has at its disposal are great I no longer need to bother with bodypaint.
