Hi all,
I just finished a VERY heavy quarter in school and now I'm home and relaxing all the stress away. I promised I'd show you guys what I've been working on but it's all in a hundred little class-related directories right now so I'm claiming my WIP space to spur myself on to organize all of it and throw my progress up.
I have a couple of images from my class journal, just before I stopped updating it for the final stretch of the project. I managed to trash my project sculpts and directories three or four times due to the hardware limitations we're facing at school. What I'll post here is the result of a week-long hike in modeling, sculpting and video editing which I am still very much treating as a WIP.
Enjoy!

Default MSSS_FastSkin_Maya + Simple three-point lighting setup. Making sure my lighting properly shows off all three levels of sub surface scattering.

Mental Ray displacement test... no point in modeling detail if your mesh doesn't render

Locked-in sculpt; front

I think this may be the locked in sculpt in the back. The character was ultimately sprawled out on its back so I didn't feel the need to fix most of these problem areas, given my time constraint (believe me, I am massively aware of the pinching around its arse)
That's it for the journal... as soon as I sort out all these frames, convert them from tga to something web compliant and figure out how to stream video from my website, I'll bring you up to speed as to where the project dropped off.
