Hello,
I'm working on an animated character whose facial movements distort the textures to the point where they look really bad.
The character is rigged using blend-shapes. There are no muscles involved.
We've compensated by choosing a blend-shape that might be a good rest pose, tweaking the UVs, and tweaking the textures, and going back and tweaking the UVs and textures depending on how the textures look in animation.
It's a terrible process, and one I would like to avoid in the future if I could.
Are there any suggestions on how to minimize texture stretching on an animated face? Are there special techniques I could use in Mudbox or Maya to accomplish this?
Much appreciated.
