This is a little extra something I've always wanted to do. There are times when you cannot simply pack enough information into a DVD, 20 DVD's or a shelf full of books. This allows me to train every single subscriber every damn thing I know. Period.

It's not going to be all monsters...or creatures..or wrinkly old dudes..but every single type of model and cover every pipeline that I can possible cover in detail. Highly detailed videos of steps you need in a pipeline and sculpting skills and theory you NEED to know. This the same quality as I teach when I am a top companies like CCP.

Each time I come up with a new pipeline idea, way to sculpt..tip or trick you get it first and often exclusively. It's about as good as you can get unless you kidnap me and extract my brain into the matrix lol.

We are using a TOP streaming provider used by comapnies such as vimeo, veoh and many others...so it's not liable to go down any time soon. Streams are in HD (our 1st is in 1024 simply as that was most requested video and also what it was recorded in live.)


You can skip to any point in the video with next to no lag, it doesn't take ages to load... You can be sure I'll be packing a LOT of stuff into this..there is no time limit to when I'll stop. I'll keep gong and adding videos until the provider screams at me to stop lol.


The 1st video up is the infamous 'Requiem Time-lapse' from Utrecht Holland recorded at the end user event in may. It has NEVER been seen till this moment... every second is there where I went from zero to final render in 55 mins. More people have requested i release this video than any other...so it seemed a fitting video to start with.

The next video is already encoding ready for its vocal tracks...... and this is a nice one ;)

....plus I'm sitting here right now with 'LIVE in Berlin double DVD set all ready and mastered. There's going to be a lot of stuff coming out soon. I should point out that streams for the workshop and the DVD streams that will soon be available will be separate (mainly as otherwise people will join for a month dl all the DVD's and sod off again). Although we may bring in an 'uber' membership option to include everything at a future time.

I have kept this as cheap as I possibly can do to cover costs, but yes it has a price as this is a LOT of work to organise and put out. Yes there will still be free videos and things but the hub needs a regular income to survive long term and this gives everyone something good out of it.
We just took a massive leap forward.

On opening I gaurenteed at least 52 hours worth of video over the next 12 months...which is an average of 1 hour every week MINIMUM.

If you mean am I going to go to a team of lawyers, get ripped off to the tune of 4 -5 figures for a bit of paper...then no. (I'm not in the habit of giving money to lawyers.) My word is my gaurentee and I'd think by now people now I keep my word. if not then yes that person would be in the wrong place.

The subscription can be cancelled at any time so I'd think that the current prices are more than fair. Price anything even remotely similar and you'll see you get a whole lot less for a lot more money. To do this sort of thing does cost money and the hub is not going to run at a loss.

Look at it this way guys..... When has Wayne Ever! given you any reason what so ever to doubt him, from everything he has done?? From all the FREE video's, Free Help on the forum, Dvd's, Tutorials etc.. He hasn't! Wayne has to be one of the most generous people i have ever met, and i haven't even technically met him lol..if that makes sense..

My point is..... there is no reason to doubt him... at all.... If you are still too sceptical about the whole thing.. then only get it Month by Month, and as he said above u can cancel anytime... what do u have to lose, absolutly nothing...

Wayne started this whole thing because he wants to teach people, not because someone asked him to do it, he's willing to do it all on his own accord and people are already doubting him before it all even starts, i mean common, give him a chance.. He is too well known to even think of trying something as stupid as trying to rip people off... THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN...

We should all get behind this awesome opportunity to Learn from Wayne as much as we can..

It still astounds me when people assume that whenever I put something out either for free or to only cover costs that I must be somehow 'up to something'. No one is twisting anyones arm to join the on demand service, you either join or you dont simple as that.

The price just covers the costs of doing this, its certainly not going to make me (or anyone else) giant shed loads of money. In fact the more users subscribe the more it costs, so that scalability had to be taken into account before I set this up.

I 'could' have set it as a 2 month course and charged $200 very easily if money had been a motivator and provided far less video for more money. Instead because not that many years ago I was homeless and had nothing..not so much as a bean, I try to give back to everyone not just those that can afford expensive courses.

There is no catch, no small print, just a very simple offer. If its not taken up on by enough people, then please do not complain if I then closed this service and kept those on who had paid in 'locked session. Also do not complain if people that have done then know techniques and have access to resources others dont. My name and standing are my guarentee as there is no way in cold hell I'd risk everything I've achieved over the last couple of years to rip anyone off for 19 dollars lol. Thats not even $5 a week...

Although maybe its just a side effect on the world we live in where the 'there's nothing for nothing ' culture still persists. Some of us are trying to change that in a very small way. Yes there will still be free videos , and yes I will still release commercial training, if any of that offends anyone here I suggest they ask themselves why they are here.

Yes the DVD is very very close to release so thats taking up a fair bit of time. The prep for release is the hardest process.

Coincidently today (after watching Wayne's skull lessons yesterday) a program on tv which i couldn't watch all of spoke about"golden ratio" found in nature. The lines were described in our skull class!!

I found interest in the research that suggests although the face is not symmetrical, we as humans subconsciously find symmetry more attractive. It shows good genes and good health. A face that is unsymmetrical may tell us that in the womb whilst developing a person had low immunity, maybe not able to fight off small infections which caused this "look."

Therefore we search for symmetry in a mate to carry on our genes strongly, supposedly unknowing it is in our primal instincts.

So Wayne i am not going to take a photo of my self and butt up the other halves. I don't want anything else to blame my poor mother for.

Going back to a few days before i joined the workshop, (the elite how special am I) i had been chucking a tantrum about a paint tin not closing due to the paint build up in the rim.

An old bloke told me when you get a fresh tin to drill holes in the inside lip so the paint drains back in (which by the way works a treat).
At that point i said that i wanted a way to suck useful tips out of peoples brains whenever i met them (well copy them to mine otherwise they may walk the earth not knowing a dam thing and i would feel guilty) so i would know in advance many solutions and make my life a breeze.

In Wayne's spiel to draw attention to the classes he literally offered what i had just asked for SO this is a long winded way of complementing the workshop as he has already been giving great brain sucking!!

No problem your permission have been changed (normally this happens automaticaly but alas teh last vbulletin update screwed that up so we do it by hand. This also stops any exploits of the system to get acess for free by unscruplious types. ;)

Being uploaded and converted at the moment (which is taking a while as the source files are HUGE) is the orginal unseen wave 2, and a enviro sculpting and texturing video in full. I'm planning a hard surface video after those all going well. So there is a fair few hours going up as soon as they upload and transcode on the server. (upping takes a while as I'm on a very slow upload speed. With more subscribers eventualy I could theoretically use a service about 40 iles away wiht a 1 gig upload speed and up videos at a faster rate. But for that to be worth it and for me to not lose £60 a damn hour we need eough subscribers. So I've put that idea to one side for a while.)

It depends to be honest..... I've sculpted using everything from a single tri upwards over the years. Once the theory and a certain amount of experience are under your belt it doesn't matter what you use as a base mesh to be truthful.

Thats a difficult one as it would open up a whole lot of things to do with bandwidth, at the moment streaming vids are external to mudboxhub, hence little bandwidth, but as soon as you add downloads then things get a whole lot more complicated cost wise and managing dowloads wise. I'm sure Wayne took the streaming route over downloads for a reason, but I'm certain he can explain better than I.

having them downloadable, which handy to us, also becomes a problem for wayne, ppl would download them n then they would go viral over the net, n wayne would lose the whole point of having a subscription, why would ppl pay for something they could just download from somewhere instead of streaming them..

Steaming is much more practical for wayne to keep them exclusive to Mudbox Hub.
In my opinion. :)

Early on, I thought it would be great to have downloads too, I could watch them from wherever and whenever I wanted, but I had changed my mind since then. I agree Shawry and lovingsaskia!!! Having the vid's available ONLY at Mudboxhub, and ONLY to subscribers is what gives us that little bit extra in our techniques and our abilities in Mud. It's like having Wayne's gooey, disturbing brain accessible to us anytime we need it! lol

Wayne gives the community SO much for free already, it's nice to subscribe to something and know that the information there is not widely known and that gives us all a tremendous edge!

Im not sure of the technical side of all that, but again its a moral thing, i would like to have access to them all the time too but to be curtius to wayne i wouldn't think of it, just watch them a couple of times n take notes, you can usually pick up everything that way.. if u take notes then there is no need to download them.

I take notes all the time. Its an old habit from lectures, which is basically what wayne is putting up just in video form.

I don't think Wayne would like any one to list the videos, but I went through and checked what was missing and there is still HOURS of content available. Even with some of the videos down you'd still get your moneys worth. Wayne's probably the only person who can tell you the details because its his site and he'll be the one to fix any errors, but when you take whats still up, factor in time to watch, rewatch, and practice the techniques......Theres plenty!

you only get access when WAYNE(not mods) activate your account.
If waynes inbox is full pm a mod. In worst case make a post in this thread only.
I know it sucks that you have to wait but its the only way. But as soon as it got acitvated ITS X-MAS...so many goodies for such a low low price :)

Hey trust me, i thought it was automated to..I PAID! on a friday and wasnt activated till monday. 2 Days wasted, which sucks. They(wayne/mods) also dont specify anywhere on the signup area that ONLY wayne can activate it. Which is whenever he is free. Since he was doing EUE/has a family/other events. His time is very limited. Which sucks for new subscribers. Maybe wayne can figure out a new payment system where its automated. Or maybe mods can activate aswell.

It really should be automated, that whould really save the buyer and wayne some time i think, but i dont know how easy or expensive that is to make.

I dont minde wayne activating. usualy he peeks inn here every day checking stuff. i trust wayne not frauding me/us. but maybe get some trusty mod to help him around whouldn't be that dumb idea.


As long as my subscription time is counting from when my account gets ACTIVATED by wayne and not from registred payment im good.

Btw. when i buy this first subscription, will it keep charging my credit card? until i manualy cancel it?

Ya you have to cancel it manually. I usually do it before the months end. Just in case.

Yes you have to manually cancel it. (thats a paypal thing not a wayne thing BTW.)

..and yes I am about to apoint an admin or two to help with this, although you'll find I normally do not cancel right away but give the user a few days, this more than makes up for any delay. The only exception to this is if I have been about to go away for more than 2 dys at time without net access.

Adding an admin and granting the rights needed for this means a change to a few pages of forum code to keep everything nailed down.

I would like to take a vote of anyone who has used the stream if they feel that this isn't working either for the manual activation or anything else let me know in this thread or the one in the elite forum section( thats only accessble to subscribers). If more people say no than yes then I'll suspend it after making sure everyone gets more than there moneys worth of vids .

Now I'd just like to point out this isn't me haing a hissy fit etc but geniunely wanting feedback on this. It has been a massve undertaking for a solo artist (In fact 2 of the 3 founder members of mudbox / skymatter said I must be insane to try it lol). My 1st focus is always you the people subscribing, which is why I've never ignored feedback about the stream.

So give me your views on this..... you nat me to keep ging or not,as the last thing I would or could afford to do is to screw anyone over as to be blunt there are a few people just waiting for that moment. Lets give it 10 day for everyone to give their feedback an I'll publish the number of votes.

I just feel like the activation process should be done within a day at most if not instant. I love the streams and wouldnt want them gone/suspended.

If adding admins is a pain why not set up specfic days of the week that you know you'll be on and can activate it....ex. (mon,wed,fri subscribe before 4pm to get acount activated. ) that way you dont waste time changing code around you still get control. If you let people know that you only activate those days and at those times. Then people can wait for those. Idk just an idea.

Well i havent gotten inn to the stream yet so i cant say so mutch about that.

But i can totaly agree to what transitoryspace says. If you cant have admins to help you because of to mutch work .atleast make some dates you are checking and activating accounts, this way buyers and new subscribers know when they can expect to have there acount activated. because my biggest missery right now, is that i dont know when.......i need to know....im a control freak :P hehe

so i i knw "ok wayne is checking it eatch monday, ok" then i can chill until monday instead of spaming this forum looking for answeres and annoy people with bad gramar :P


And yes Wayne, your a bit insane trying to pull this off on your own :P insane in a good way tho, because after what i have read and heard people enjoy what you have given them in the "Elite" section.

So the conclution, dont think the content and the vids are the issue, but rather the prosess from paying and getting acces. People are greedy and care about there money thise days:)

Automated would be the "ideal" but manual is also the safest option especially as the streaming content is a virtual goldmine. Yes it does lead to delay's on people getting their hands on the content, but that delay is better than Wayne waking up one morning to find all of his streaming content all over the tinternet.

As for specific days, thats fine until something else crops up and then there is another delay.

Thanks TOXIC, Those are some great videos. I've spent most of my free time watching htem and I've already learned a ton about using Mudbox. Any ideas when the missing videos (creating the mouth, etc) will show up?

Thanks for being honest about it. As only 3 people in he history of the stream have cancelled (yourself included) I'm amazed I missed it. (Unless it was paypal having an email 'blip' again.

thanks for setting me up , I've been looking at the streaming videos and they all look advanced tips and trick stuff. Any chance you can put a few videos for the brand new user to Mudbox. For some reason i thought I would find Wave one in here. :( I'm sure later on ill be able to use the cool stuff you are posting but first i need to nail the basics. I also have a few questions regarding camera position saves , can i paint the diffuse and bunp layers at the same time? Bla bka bla, very basic stuff.

You can find the WAVE 1 Dvd on the front page, and maybe try some of the quick start videos wayne has put out.. they're really helpful. Also on the stream, check out the speed sculpting head one, its some good technigues in it that will help you regardless of your level..

the version for pc 64 bit mubox 2011 is live on the front of the site now (or a sort of beta for it as not all feaures I want to add are there yet). That version does have some bugs I have to fix soon. mianly due to changes in QT calls that have to be used to make it os independant source wise. Looks like at least 2 of those they screwed up so I'm coding a work around.

Sculpting only otherwise it'd get very complex as lots of users use lots of diffent apps. So everything would need to be duplicated in max, maya, softimage, cinema 4d, modo, lightwave etc etc......
