Hi all!
As the title says, this is (a part) of my entry at this years 3December contest.
Since it's a fairly short sequence, and a lot of work flow depended on Mudbox, I thought of posting some shots here, both from Mudbox and from the final version. Just to note, my (not so good) tablet broke down and as a result this had to be done with a mouse :S
Concerning the scene itself, it was partially inspired by Mozart's "Magic Flute", a powerful instrument of summoning and security.
This image was boiling in my head for some time now, and I thought it would fit in to the theme I picked out for myself.
For the portrait I used a couple of images taken from a friend to which I am truly grateful.

And a shot of the horn, with a sheet of some of the planes that were sculpted, baked to 32bit Displacement maps, and then used as stencils and stamps on various parts of the character:
