I've been so busy with work and client models this week and last I've not had time to do much 'for me' so I thought I have a quick warm down tonight after 12 hours straight on a design I wanted to test out and warm up on. Doodles and sketches may be a bit thin on the ground for a while as theres a lot going on at the moment.

Oh I love the pose :D And of course the wrinkles and the facial structure is GORGEOUS :D! It looks like he's napping peacefully, or very angry :D Awesome!

Is reducto a new package you're trying out? If ya don't mind me asking, what was the poly count before and after?

Thanks for sharing! Very inspirational!

nah Digital Ninja, Reducto is one of waynes special secret hush hush type plug-ins lol.., its a plug-in that reduces the polygon count without losing detail, ( if im not mistaken ) and from the looks of it, its works great :)

nice model dude.. i too am also interested n the original poly count to the new count.. unless ur wanting to keep that kinda detail untill u release it..

as always, great work dude.
Nice lighting too.. btw

Plus I don't think it is supposed to be hushhush when he puts a large frigging logo on his image.... More of a hype raiser ;)

Ah thats confidential...although as a hint an early beta from a year back reduced an 8 million mesh to 1/2 million and loooked 100% the same. It also does LOT more than just reduction and its techncially a standalone app...not one line of the code is from the mudbox sdk. ;) Although it will have a mudbox plugin...yeah ironic eh? A mudbox plugin for my app lol.

One thing I will let out that it can do is bake a amb occ map to vertex color for a 2million poly mesh in about 3-5 seconds.(..and no its not ptex or anything even remotely similar...this 100% wayne code...just wanted to clear that up). There is a lot of things now in the latest build from last night of ReDucto.... I may show a few things from it and its a small selection of it capabilies next week at some point.

ah sweet.. well i was kinda half right lol... Your a killer for suspense.. =) 8 mil to 500k is awesome! wonder what it can do now..? well look forward to the vid !
So... is reducto going to be a "Pay to Use" project considering its an entirely different and stand alone App to mudbox?

Thsts undecided at the moment although its been used in production for a while now where I'm working. (..I'm the ony person I will allow to use it at the moment.) It may be free, it may not it depends on a lot to be frank.

Free... $100... For a tool with claims like that, I would go all in for whatever it winds up being. Very excited to see this a topic of discussion again Wayne!

Just testing out rigging and skinning using CAT now in max 2011 (bit of a shame I forgot to test it duringhte beta really lol) Along with Bones Pro. The idea was to see what a default 'worst case senario' rig would produce in about 15 mins with no weight correction. It'd take about another 20 or so to do the weights cleanup.
